About Barbie
Hi, my name is Barbie Cervoni. I am a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and an expert in chronic disease risk reduction and management with more than 18 years of experience. I am a culinary enthusiast and received my culinary certification in Plant Based Cooking from Rouxbe online cooking school. I am also a nutrition journalist, speaker, content creator for major medical organizations and medical review board member. I wholeheartedly understand the barriers, burdens, and struggles that come with managing a condition. And I firmly believe in the power of nutrition for risk reduction, treatment, and management of disease. I also love food and enjoy teaching people how to create delicious meals that fit their nutrition goals.
Approach to care
My approach to care is centered around active listening and educating with empathy and compassion. I understand the importance of meeting you where you're at and will provide you with credible information, actionable and realistic tips, hopeful humor, and lots of nutritious food into your life. Wherever you are in your feeding journey, eating well can improve your quality of life.
Your first session with Barbie
You can expect to be met with respect and empathy. Changing habits and behaviors takes time. We will review your lifestyle - diet, exercise, stress, sleep, cooking skills, food preferences, and identify short and long term goals. The plan is not to uproot your entire life. Instead, I will meet you where you are at and together we will create goals aimed at guiding you to become the healthiest version of yourself. There is no one-size-fits-all to nutrition. Let’s work together to determine what you need to live better.
