About Bethany

Hello! I'm Bethany! I have been working as an outpatient clinical dietitian in the community space for over 3 years. Through my practice I have had the opportunity to provide nutrition guidance to patients with a spectrum of health concerns, with my primary area of fucus being weight management and associated conditions such as diabetes, PCOS, and cardiovascular disease. It is my mission to work as a team with my patients to merge nutrition science with accessible strategies that can promote sustainable change towards health, a positive relationship with food, and help patients to build confidence in themselves and their choices as they work towards their personal health goals.

Approach to care

My counseling approach is rooted in self-determination theory. You are in the driver's seat, and I am here to support you. It is my goal to help open up paths of exploration for reconnecting with food in a way that nurtures you, as a WHOLE person, while considering your individual health concerns and goals, and your overall physical and mental well-being. I am an anti-diet, pro-YOU dietitian. Navigating through today’s diet culture and messaging can feel overwhelming and defeating, and make us question ourselves. I am here to help cut through the noise and shine light on YOUR inner wisdom while offering education and tools to support your individual health journey.

Your first session with Bethany

In our initial session, my primary purpose is to understand what makes you tick! We’ll review your health history, and go through lifestyle factors that may impact your day-to-day food choices, behaviors, and lifestyle patterns. If you’re feeling up for it, we can do a bit of diet recall. Discussing your long-term goals will help us to start formulating a plan together. While identifying your goals I’ll likely ask you to share your motivations towards health with me; what is your ‘why’? I find that defining our motivations sets the foundation for establishing sustainable health habits. We’ll also make time to put a name on any barriers, so that we can workshop ways to navigate through them. Finally, based on our conversation, we’ll collaborate to develop a few small, realistic, goal-supportive changes or habits to practice until our next session. My hope for our first meeting is that you’ll leave feeling more confident and competent in where you can start to create the shift you want.
