About Bethany

Many women in midlife feel exhausted, inflamed, and overlooked—told their labs are “normal,” yet nothing feels right and everything feels upended. I’m Bethany Thomson, a registered dietitian and functional nutritionist with over 20 years of experience helping women and families find real answers and lasting relief. I specialize in women’s health, digestive issues, hormone shifts, and challenges with energy, stress, and sleep—especially in midlife. My approach blends evidence-based nutrition with clinical insight, soul-level care, and gentle encouragement. I practice from a holistic perspective—supporting the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. Many clients come to me feeling unsure or overwhelmed, discouraged by past experiences—but in our work together, they’ve found a safe space to be seen, supported, and finally hopeful. Healing happens best in a space of safety, trust, and grace.

Approach to care

My approach is rooted in partnership, not perfection. I believe healing happens in the context of safety, compassion, and small, consistent steps. I take time to truly listen to each client’s story—because when we understand the “why” behind symptoms and struggles, we can make meaningful progress. Many clients share that they began their journey feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or discouraged by past experiences—but in our work together, they’ve found a safe space to be honest, explore root causes, and move forward with confidence. Together, we focus on what matters most: clarifying your priorities, building nourishing habits, and creating rhythms that feel realistic for your life. I blend evidence-based nutrition with behavior change coaching, clinical discernment, and grace—so you can move forward with clarity, not overwhelm.

Your first session with Bethany

In our first session, I’ll take time to really get to know you—your story, your symptoms, your daily life, and what you’re most hoping for. This is a space to exhale and feel seen. We won’t try to change everything all at once. Instead, we’ll gently explore where your body and soul need the most support right now. Together, we’ll identify small, sustainable steps that align with your priorities and capacity. I believe that the more we listen—both to your words and to your body’s signals—the more clarity we’ll gain. Over time, this allows us to create personalized changes that actually stick—not quick fixes, but a path to real, sustainable healing. I’m here to walk with you as a trusted guide—bringing clinical wisdom, spiritual compassion, and steady encouragement every step of the way.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Samford University; Dietetic Internship at Vanderbilt University; Graduate Courses in Human Nutrition from the University of Alabama

Hobbies

I enjoy baking homemade bread, sipping hot tea, watercolor painting, browsing antique stores, and savoring classic English novels. I live with my husband and our five children on a farm in Tennessee, where we raise sheep and donkeys and where I try my hand at growing herbs and wildflowers. I’m a Christian and actively involved in our local church. I find deep joy in creating spaces of encouragement, hospitality, and spiritual growth—both within our home and in the wider community. I also enjoy hosting my podcast, Nourishing Her Midlife Rest: Body & Soul, where I share reflections on faith, wellness, and the healing rhythms of midlife.
