About Betty
Betty Phanord, MS, RDN, LDN is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian who earned her master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Nova Southeastern University. Her passion for nutrition began at an early age, growing up in a Seventh-day Adventist environment where food and health were closely tied to overall well-being. This upbringing instilled in her a deep belief that food is medicine and a powerful tool for prevention and healing. Betty has experience working in diverse healthcare settings and food service operations, where she has guided patients in improving and even reversing chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. She is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes and achieve long-term wellness.
Approach to care
My approach to care is rooted in compassion, respect, and evidence-based nutrition. I believe in meeting patients where they are, listening to their unique needs, and creating individualized plans that are both realistic and sustainable. Guided by the philosophy that food is medicine, I focus on prevention, healing, and long-term lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes. I also value cultural, spiritual, and personal traditions, ensuring that every patient feels supported, empowered, and confident on their journey toward better health.
Your first session with Betty
During your first session, Betty will take time to get to know you, your health history, eating habits, lifestyle, and personal goals. She will listen carefully to your concerns and answer any questions you may have. Together, you will begin building a personalized nutrition plan that fits your needs, preferences, and cultural values. The session is a collaborative and supportive conversation, not a lecture. Betty’s goal is to make you feel comfortable, empowered, and confident about the steps ahead in your health journey.
