Approach to care
My approach to patient care for weight management and diabetes focuses on individualized, evidence-based interventions that address both medical and lifestyle factors. I prioritize building a supportive, non-judgmental relationship to foster trust and encourage sustainable change. This involves assessing each patientâs medical history, readiness for change, and personal goals, then developing a tailored plan that may include nutrition counseling, physical activity guidance, medication optimization, and behavioral strategies. Education is centralâhelping patients understand the connection between weight, glucose control, and long-term healthâwhile regular follow-up allows for ongoing monitoring, early problem-solving, and celebrating progress. My goal is to empower patients with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to manage their condition and improve overall quality of life.
Your first session with Beverly
During our first session, you can expect a comprehensive and personalized approach to your nutrition needs. I will begin by gathering detailed information about your medical history, current health concerns, lifestyle, eating habits, and personal goals. This may include discussing any diagnoses, lab results, medications, or allergies. We will also explore your daily routine, physical activity, and food preferences to understand your unique situation. Using this information, I will assess your nutritional status and identify areas for improvement. Together, we will set realistic, achievable goals and begin developing a tailored nutrition plan that fits your lifestyle. The session is collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping you feel empowered to take control of your health through informed, sustainable choices. Follow-up visits will build on this foundation for long-term success.
