About Britteny
Hi! My name is Britteny. I've been a dietitian for almost 10 years. During that time, I've lived and worked in both New York City and the Navajo Nation in Arizona. I believe nutrition is the basis of good health and can help many people live better lives. My favorite part of my job is seeing my clients reach their goals and celebrate their successes.
Approach to care
My approach to care has four main principles: 1 - I take an easy-going, "type B" approach to care. Being healthy shouldn't be stressful! 2 - I believe that nutrition is more than just the food on our plates - it's our families, culture, communities and values. I aim to work with you and help you make changes that fit into your life and your goals. 3 - I take a non-judgmental approach. Humans are complicated and changing our habits is hard work. I like to give my clients encouragement and celebration, not strict rules or deadlines. 4 - I use evidence-based information as much as possible. I do my best to stay up to date on the latest in nutrition research and will incorporate that into our sessions.
Your first session with Britteny
During the first session, we'll spend some time getting to know each other. I want to understand where you are and what you want from our sessions before we jump in. I'll spend some time reviewing your health history and prior nutrition knowledge. We'll also take time to discuss your concerns and goals. This will also be a great time for you to ask me any questions you might have for me.
