About Bryan

I'm a registered dietitian who specializes in helping people empower their relationship with food and their bodies. I work primarily with individuals navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, body concerns, and the challenges of diet culture. My approach is intersectional and inclusive, for example weight and identity inclusive (e.g. culture, gender/attraction, life stage). For much of my career I've specialized in working with adolescents, families, and young people in transition - for example I've worked at Stanford Children's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, and most recently Stanford University. My goal is to co-create a brave and affirming space for all clients, with particular experience supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals. I believe that you are the expert on your own body, and my role is to walk alongside you as a guide and collaborator in your healing journey.

Approach to care

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in evidence-based practices as well as your lived experience (e.g. Intuitive eating with cultural humility). I don't believe in rigid meal plans or food rules. Instead, we'll work together to help you reconnect with your body's wisdom, challenge internalized food beliefs, and find peace with eating. I see nutrition counseling as part of a team effort. I regularly collaborate with therapists, physicians, and other providers to ensure you're getting comprehensive, coordinated care. Every person's journey is unique, so we'll co-create a treatment plan that reflects your values, goals, and lived experience. Above all, I'm here to help you move away from shame and toward self-compassion, one conversation at a time.

Your first session with Bryan

Think of our first session as co-designing your own bowl of ramen—do you want it spicy or mild? Thick noodles or thin? We'll talk about what level of accountability, structure, and goals feel right for you, because this work should fit your life. We'll review your intake forms together, and I'll ask clarifying questions to better understand your story, struggles, and hopes. I'll share a tentative treatment plan, and if time allows, we can dive into a specific situation or concern you're currently facing. We'll wrap up by outlining next steps and what you can expect in our upcoming sessions. Between our first and second visit, I'll take time to process everything you've shared, consult with your treatment team (like your therapist, doctor, or family members, if applicable), and refine our nutrition treatment plan. Then we'll get started on this journey together.

Hobbies

When I'm not working, you'll find me being silly with my two kids and rediscovering the world through their eyes—it's one of my favorite things. I'm also a lifelong learner, currently pursuing my doctorate where I'm studying well-being in teams and organizations. I'm endlessly curious about what helps people thrive, both in my personal life and professionally.
