About Camilla
I was born in Vermont and raised in Massachusetts. In college I became fascinated with how our body's work through an organic chemistry component in an Ethnobotany course. I shifted into a pre-med track and completed my BS in Biology and Chemistry. I went on to start a Naturopathic Medicine program but after one year decided that I really wanted to focus simply on nutrition. I moved to New York City and worked in restaurants and community programs around food and cooking with adults and children. After completing my Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship in 2012 through Hunter College I started my career as a Registered Dietitian. As a RD I craved more knowledge and skills around how to help with behavior change and habits. I completed my Health Coach training through WellCoaches in 2017 and became a board certified Health and Wellness Coach in 2018.
Approach to care
Balance and mindfulness are at the core of my nutrition practice. Overly restrictive protocols are not long term solutions. Feeling good in our bodies is a powerful motivation to create and stick to healthy habits. I used mindful eating principles and coaching techniques to support change.
Your first session with Camilla
As a RD I provide evidence based guidance to promote health and address chronic disease and risk factors. As a coach I help with behavior change and creating habits and routines to set yourself up for success and make healthy choices easier. In our first session we will discuss what you are doing now, opportunities for change, and what ideal health and habits might look like for you. We will create long term goals and then outline the steps to start with. You will leave each visit with a clear action plan.
