About Candice
Hi, I’m Candice Hernandez, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and proud mom from Los Angeles, California. My journey in nutrition is both professional and personal. I love helping people build healthier relationships with food in ways that feel realistic, compassionate, and sustainable. For over six years, I’ve worked in community and public health nutrition, with a special focus on maternal, infant, and child nutrition. Supporting families during such important stages of life has been one of the most meaningful parts of my career. I also have three years of experience working with eating disorders, where I developed a strong foundation in intuitive eating, self-awareness, and behavior change. At the heart of my work is the belief that food is more than just nourishment, it’s connection, culture, and care. My goal is to empower individuals and families to feel confident, supported, and at peace in their wellness journey.
Approach to care
In my practice, I create a safe and supportive space where food feels less stressful and more nourishing. My approach blends intuitive eating, self-awareness, and gentle behavior change, helping clients build a healthier relationship with food that feels sustainable and guilt-free. I specialize in maternal, infant, and child nutrition as well as supporting individuals who struggle with eating challenges. Whether you’re navigating family nutrition, seeking balance in your own eating habits, or working through a difficult relationship with food, I meet you where you are with compassion, practical guidance, and encouragement every step of the way.
Your first session with Candice
Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk about your health history, eating habits, lifestyle, and any goals or challenges you’d like to focus on. This isn’t about judgment, it’s a safe space for you to share your story and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your relationship with food, your routines, and your overall well-being. Together, we’ll start identifying what’s most important to you and set realistic, supportive goals. You can expect to leave the session with: A clearer understanding of how we’ll work together Initial guidance tailored to your needs Next steps for your nutrition journey My goal is to make you feel supported, understood, and encouraged from day one.
