About Cara

Hi, I’m Cara — a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who specializes in women’s metabolic health across the lifespan, from adolescence through motherhood and beyond. I support women and families navigating weight management, blood sugar regulation, digestive concerns, hormonal shifts, and chronic stress during busy seasons of life. My work blends evidence-based nutrition with a whole-person approach, recognizing the connection between metabolism, digestion, stress, sleep, light exposure, and daily rhythms. I bring extensive experience providing prenatal and postpartum nutrition counseling and breastfeeding education, along with a strong foundation in preventive care. Through telehealth, I offer calm, supportive guidance focused on sustainable habits that nourish women and support the health of their families.

Approach to care

My care philosophy is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. I became a dietitian because I believe our bodies are designed to be nourished and supported, not battled against. I take a whole-person, evidence-based approach that supports both the body and the mind. I help women build a healthier, more respectful relationship with food while also addressing metabolism, digestion, weight management, and preventive care. Drawing from intuitive and mindful eating principles, I focus on reducing food-related stress while staying grounded in physiology and practical nutrition. My work integrates behavior change strategies, nervous system awareness, and circadian-informed practices such as light, sleep, and meal timing. I’m especially passionate about supporting young women and teens who are struggling with their health, energy, or body image, and helping them create steady, nourishing routines that support long-term health.

Your first session with Cara

In your first session, we’ll take time to understand your health history, current concerns, family life, routines, and goals. We’ll explore nutrition alongside lifestyle factors such as stress, sleep, digestion, light exposure, and daily rhythms to better understand what may be influencing your metabolism and overall health. Together, we’ll identify realistic short-term and long-term goals using a behavior-change framework that prioritizes sustainability, prevention, and real life. Your plan may include support with weight management, digestive health, blood sugar balance, whole-foods nutrition, seasonal nourishment, and practical meal strategies. Sessions are collaborative and judgment-free, with a focus on building confidence and habits you can maintain over time.

Hobbies

Outside of work, you’ll often find me adventuring in the mountains with my husband, our three children, and our husky. My favorite things are hiking (with plans to hike my first 14er soon!), snow skiing, sauna, and yoga. I enjoy gardening, seasonal cooking, recipe experimentation, and creative projects, as well as reading a good book. Much of our family life centers around building a homestead one DIY project at a time and finding rest and renewal in nature and the quiet moments.
