About Casey

Hello! I'm Casey and I am a registered, licensed and certified dietitian nutritionist. Food has always been one of the main focuses of my life, but it has been a complex journey. I used to love helping my mom and grandmother cook, attended Culinary School and worked as a chef/pastry chef for 8 years. However, I also experienced disordered eating from a young age and succumbed to the perils of diet culture, losing and gaining weight for years. Now that I have healed my relationship with food, I want to help others take control of their health through the most supportive, non-judgemental approach possible. Since I decided to dive into the nutrition side of food, my experience has mostly been working in research which means I am always learning and applying evidence-based science to my practice.

Approach to care

I am a weight neutral dietitian that understands that each individual's health journey is specific to them and is more nuanced than "calories in vs. calories out." I consider the mental health of my patients as much as I do the physical health, and take a very empathetic approach because I know how frustrating and difficult it is to have a strained relationship with your body. Your unique upbringing, cultural background, and current lifestyle are all taken into consideration when approaching your nutrition plan. All of my techniques are evidence-based and weight inclusive to help you focus on realistic and sustainable ways for you to reach your health goals.

Your first session with Casey

At your first session, I will get to know you, starting with your relationship with food as a child up to present day as well as your relationship with your body throughout your life. We will discuss feelings and emotions that you've connected to food and establish what your overall health goals are. This information will help us create small, realistic goals as part of your unique nutrition plan. Your appointments are about you and the changes you want to implement in your lifestyle, and I will be here to support you through every part of the journey!
