About Catherine

Hi, my official name is Catherine but I prefer to go by Kate. I’m a dietitian with over 20 years of experience helping people improve their nutrition in ways that feel realistic, compassionate, and sustainable. My work has focused on older adults, individuals living with chronic disease, and—most recently—patients navigating mental health challenges. For the past 17 years, I’ve worked in the state hospital system, supporting people who often faced significant obstacles to maintaining their nutritional well‑being. No matter your access to food, your schedule, or the challenges you’re juggling, I’m committed to helping you find strategies that are doable, personalized, and truly fit your life.

Approach to care

My approach to nutrition is grounded in respect, collaboration, and the belief that meaningful change happens when strategies fit real life — not the other way around. I understand that nutrition is never just about food. It’s about access, energy, motivation, health history, emotional well‑being, and the daily realities that shape how people eat. I strive to create an environment where you feel genuinely comfortable sharing your experiences with food, health, and the challenges that come with both. My counseling space is built on compassion, curiosity, and respect — never judgment. Your story, your history, and your relationship with food are welcomed exactly as they are.

Your first session with Catherine

In our first session, I want to get to know you. Together, we explore what has shaped your eating patterns, what barriers you’re facing, and what strengths you already have. I’ll help you identify meaningful short‑term and long‑term goals, and we’ll continue to refine them as we move through our counseling sessions. My role is to listen deeply, honor your lived experience, and help you move toward change at a pace that feels safe and sustainable for you.
