About Catherine

Hi, I'm Cat! I have been a dietitian for over six years and have spent most of my professional life working both as a hospital dietitian and as an outpatient weight loss dietitian. I have experience supporting individuals throughout the bariatric surgery process, as well as those using GLP-1 receptor agonist medications, and I tailor nutrition strategies to fit each person’s unique needs and lifestyle. As a former hospital dietitian, I’ve worked closely with patients managing chronic conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, cancer, and other complex medical concerns. I understand how overwhelming dietary changes can feel—especially when these conditions arise through no fault of your own. I also understand how difficult it can be to get back on track after a hospital stay. Outside of clinical care, I work part-time instructing nutrition at a community college, as well as mentoring future dietitians.

Approach to care

I believe nutrition care should feel supportive, respectful, and free of judgment. My approach centers on meeting you where you are and working together to set realistic, sustainable goals that prioritize overall health—not just a number on the scale. Whether weight loss is part of your journey or not, we’ll focus on habits that help you feel stronger, more confident, and healthier. I don’t believe in “good” or “bad” foods. Instead of placing foods off-limits, I help clients learn to build balanced meals that support their health while still making room for the foods they love. I bring this same approach to patients navigating chronic diseases - I want to empower patients to manage their conditions while still enjoying favorite foods, family recipes, and dining out.

Your first session with Catherine

During your first session, I want to spend time getting to know you and your goals. What has worked for you in the past? What hasn't worked for you? For patients working on weight loss, I may ask detailed questions about past weight loss attempts, physical activity habits, and what a typical day of eating looks like for you. First time trying to lose weight? That's okay if you don't have much to say! We can still focus on what your goals are and how you want to get there. For patients navigating chronic diseases, I may ask questions about what you know about your medical condition and what your doctors have told you to do already. Maybe you just got a new diagnosis and don't know where to start - that's okay, too!
