About Cathy

I combine clinical expertise with a lived recovery story to guide sustainable weight and health change. My approach to nutrition is both professional and deeply personal. Although I grew up in a family of registered dietitians, I struggled with obesity from childhood and eventually developed Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure and abnormal cholesterol levels. After reaching a turning point, I underwent Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, lost 150# and have successfully maintained most of that weight loss for over 30 years. This experience taught me that surgery is just a tool, not a solution, and that lasting health requires sustainable nutrition choices. I returned to school to strengthen my clinical skills and now bring over 15 years of past experience as a board- certified renal dietitian. My background includes work in dialysis, and pre-dialysis care, diabetes, hospital dietetics, corporate dietitian for long term care facilities, and fatty liver disease management.

Approach to care

I use a patient-first, evidence -based approach that blends clinical best practices with real world support, so you get a plan that's safe, practical and built to last. You can expect an individualized plan that balances safety & simplicity, clear short- term steps, measurable goals, & ongoing support to help you build habits that last.

Your first session with Cathy

During our first visit, I will complete a comprehensive nutrition assessment and take time to truly get to know you. We will review your health and weight history, discuss what you've tried in the past, and explore what has and hasn't worked for you. I will also review your lab results & any relevant physician recommendations to ensure your nutrition plan aligns with your medical needs. Together we'll talk about your goals, expectations, & readiness for changed, & I'll ask how I can best support you.
