About Charlene
Hi, I'm Charlene Wilczynski, a Registered Dietitian. I have 50 years of experience working with individuals, families and groups of people managing diets to live healthy, disease free (or disease managed) lives. In the course of my career, I have worked as a chef, a food service manager, a diabetes educator, I have worked with mental health patients and in school nutrition, in the acute and long-term care field of nutrition and with tube feedings and TPN. I always strive to improve people's nutrition/diet with small, sustainable tweaks and modifications. I have raised five children, two with type one diabetes, one with celiac disease. I have seven grandchildren, one who has been tube fed from birth. My life experiences have fueled my mission to make healthy eating fun, attainable and joy filled for everyone with whom I have the honor of working.
Approach to care
Listening to you regarding nutritional concerns, why you approached this platform, allergies, diseases, food preparation skills, whether you are organizing meals for only yourself, or a whole diverse family will all play a role in how I approach your concerns. Food, meals, dietary habits are all very personal, recommendations need to be tailored to your specific concerns, needs.
Your first session with Charlene
Lots of questions. I need to learn who you are. What brings you to this platform? What you want to get out of a meeting with a Dietitian. I have worked with patients in the acute care setting, in the setting of long term care, with school age children and with patients in a long term care mental hospital. Every one of the people I have come in contact with was a very unique individual with varying needs and concerns. Identifying your needs and concerns will be the focus of our first session.
