About Chelsea
Hi! I am an RD committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward improved mental and physical health. After earning my Bachelorās degree in Dietetics from the University of Florida, I completed my clinical training and Masterās degree in Clinical Nutrition at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. My professional experience includes working in an eating disorder treatment center and behavioral health hospital, where I delivered Medical Nutrition Therapy to diverse and challenging populations. My scope of practice specializes in disordered eating behaviors, weight and appetite-related changes, and chronic conditions. I look forward to working with you!
Approach to care
I aim to create a positive, judgment-free environment that emphasizes your strengths. Nutrition should be viewed from a glass-half-full perspective, not as an āall-or-nothingā or āone-size-fits-allā concept influenced by diet culture. Food is one of life's greatest connectors which can be enjoyed AND nourish our bodies. My approach follows the āAll Foods Fitā motto and incorporates principles such as Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size (HAES), anti-diet, mindfulness, and nutrition science. I bring an empathetic and realistic counseling style, complemented by a sense of humor and a genuine passion for helping others.
Your first session with Chelsea
The initial assessment will focus on getting to know you and establishing a comfortable, trusting relationship. During this assessment, we will explore your history, eating patterns, challenges, and goals. Based on this evaluation, nutrition education and counseling will be individualized for you. Follow-up sessions will help keep you accountable for meeting realistic goals and offer opportunities for further nutrition counseling and addressing any unique concerns.
