About Chia-Fang (Maggie)

Hi! I was born and raised in Taiwan (yes, not Thailand!) and am now a Registered Dietitian for over 2 years. While I have experience in hospital and clinic settings, I enjoy customizing meal plans with clients who need to lose or gain weight. I am also happy to work with people who need guidance for Heart Healthy Diet, Low Sodium Diet, Carb-Controlled Diet for diabetes, or Renal Diet for kidney disease.

Approach to care

During my early training days, one of my mentors told me, "Meal plans never work!" I want to improvise the sentence, "A series of customized meal plans that reflect clients' growth in knowledge, skills, and changes in beliefs will work and sustain!" My goal is to empower clients and give them the tools and courage to adapt to various "diet situations".

Your first session with Chia-Fang (Maggie)

This is the first opportunity to get to know each other! I would love to know your nutrition questions, preferred time and counseling style, and "What brings you here?" Be ready to answer many questions, including past medical histories, surgical histories, family histories, dietary patterns, height and weight trends, GI symptoms, any medication or nutrition supplements, etc. Toward the end of the first session, we will synthesize the first few nutrition goals to work on!
