About Christie
Hi 👋🏻 I’m Christie, a Registered Dietitian and Diabetes Educator in South Carolina. I've worked with a variety of people in both hospitals and private practice. My journey in dietetics started in high school where I struggled with being stuck in a binge eating cycle. I finally learned the power of making small, realistic changes versus trying to change everything overnight. I am able to relate and help my clients identify not only what they desire to change, but how they can build small habits into a greater whole. I want to create a safe place for people to feel heard about their health concerns. Whether you are newly diagnosed with diabetes, PCOS, or disordered eating I want you to know that I’m here to listen and help you achieve your goals. I try to stay light hearted and have a sense of humor. However, I’ve seen more than my share of tears in sessions. I’m happy to meet you where you're at and build you back up. Because more often than not, it’s really not about the food at all.
Approach to care
I love building relationships with my clients while guiding them in adopting a more balanced lifestyle. My main goal is to help people accept themselves where they are in their life and make small sustainable changes. I love seeing the relief on a clients face when they realize they aren’t expected to make a 180 change overnight!
Your first session with Christie
I always use our first session to get to know who you are as a person. What brought you to where you are today coming to meet with me? How are you feeling both physically and mentally? Making lifestyle changes is about so much more than food and exercise. I love to learn more about your daily routine and household rhythms. We will talk about your stress levels in different areas of your life and discuss support systems. My main goal in the first session is to walk away with a better understanding of what life looks like for you right now and what your main goals are for 1 week, 1 month, and 6 months from now. This time is also about making sure you feel like I am a good fit for you before moving forward in this journey.
