About Connie
Connie has been a registered dietitian for nine years. Her past experiences include working with the geriatric population at a subacute rehabilitation center, with acutely ill patients in hospitals, and in primary care doing outpatient counseling. Throughout her career, she has helped thousands of patients from different age groups manage their health through improved nutrition. Connie has a passion for supporting her patients in understanding how foods play a role in their health, helping them build a healthy relationship with food, and empowering them to make informed eating choices that nourish their physical and mental health.
Approach to care
Connie takes a "whole person" and compassionate approach to care, as she believes that there are various factors that can influence one's eating behaviors and overall health. We will work as a team to set small, realistic, and achievable goals and build upon them as time progresses to help you reach your health goals. Together, we will come up with a sustainable plan that works best to fit into your individual lifestyle. Connie believes healthy eating does not need to be complicated, and she is here to help you walk through every step of your journey.
Your first session with Connie
In the first session, we will take our time to get to know each other. We will go over your current lifestyle, eating patterns, sleep patterns, food preferences, stress levels, and past medical history so I can better understand the dynamics of what shapes your eating patterns. We will go over your short and long term health goals. I will help you break down scientific evidence based nutrition into simple and easy to understand terms. By the end, we will work together to start outlining action steps to work on to help you achieve your goals.
Education
Connie received her bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College and Master's degree from Queens College in nutrition.
Hobbies
During her free time, Connie enjoys trying new restaurants or cafes, staying active with diverse workouts (strength training, dance, pilates sculpting are her favorites), hiking, traveling, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
