About Cortney
Hello, my name is Cortney! I became a dietitian because, long story short, I needed one! I saw first-hand how healing a dietitian can be in your health journey. From the beginning of my time as a dietitian, I have specialized in behavioral health and disordered eating/eating disorders. Throughout my career, I have had the honor of working alongside adolescents and adults experiencing a wide variety of disorder eating issues, including chronic dieting, restriction, binging, purging, over-exercising, and ARFID. I have experience providing nutrition care in a wide variety of eating disorder treatment settings including outpatient, partial hospitalization, and inpatient levels of care.
Approach to care
I believe in an individualized and collaborative approach as every person brings a unique background, perspective, struggles, strengths, and goals for their health journey. Together we work as a team to delicately explore all these areas and create a treatment roadmap, using tools that are backed by evidenced based research. What tools we use and how we use them will be decided upon together. I provide clients with nutrition education in conjunction with a structured and flexible eating plan, unwavering support, and practical ways to release the grasp of the eating disorder/disordered eating patterns and behaviors that are keeping you stuck.
Your first session with Cortney
During our first session together, we will spend time talking about your eating habits, thoughts and feelings about food, body image concerns, and any medical complications related to your eating disorder. I understand that it can be hard to open up to someone right away and I do my very best to make our appointments collaborative and conversational. It is important to understand that you will not leave your first session with a full treatment plan, as it will take some time for us figure out exactly what each person needs. However, you will leave our first appointment with a clear idea of where we're headed together and a few goals!
