About Courtney

🔸I help clients make informed health and nutrition choices without overthinking or striving for perfection. I specialize in working with disordered eating patterns, particularly when they intersect with complex medical histories. 🔸Many clients I work with developed rigid or anxious eating habits while managing a health condition. I have clinical experience working with cardiovascular disease, liver disease, pre- and post–organ transplant care, and disease-related malnutrition. I offer a space where medical needs and a more peaceful relationship with food can coexist. 🔸I also work with athletes and active individuals to support fueling, recovery, and performance. As a former competitive distance runner, I genuinely enjoy this work. Please note: if you are seeking nutrition coaching specifically for ultra-distance events such as Ironman or ultramarathons, I may not be the best match.

Approach to care

My approach is weight-neutral and informed by Intuitive Eating principles, adapted thoughtfully for medical considerations. I will approach your session with curiosity and I encourage you to do the same. Sometimes answers don't come immediately and we don't find the exact right method for you on the first try. It's like trying on clothing or a new pair of shoes - the first thing you try on might not be right for you. So let's be curious and "try on" some ideas. My clients are encouraged to consider what "health" means to them and how that fits into all of the other priorities in life. Together we can work toward a strategy that aligns with your own priorities and health experience.

Your first session with Courtney

In our first session, I will ask you lots of questions to learn where you've come from and where you're trying to go. But the real work is in the follow-up. Each time we meet we will review what has gone well, what has not gone well, and I will also ask if you have anything specific you want to work on during that appointment. Throughout a session, I may make observations, recommendations, and suggestions but I don't expect you to do all of them! You will be in charge of deciding what next step you want to take - the small action step goal goes a really long way because we can realistically make these changes. *Keep in mind, I have availability Monday, Thursday, and Friday at this time.*
