About Courtney
Courtney Kawamoto is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) with a passion for fueling performance and supporting both athletes and clients holistically. Since joining the University of Virginia Athletics Department in 2021 as Associate Director of Sports Nutrition, she has provided individualized nutrition services to nine varsity teams, including soccer, wrestling, softball, lacrosse, and rowing. Courtney is an active member of the American Sports and Performance Dietitians Association and is committed to helping clients optimize performance, recovery, and overall well-being through evidence-based nutrition strategies. She brings a deep understanding of diverse nutritional needs and leverages a comprehensive approach - including nutrition, hydration, supplementation, and behavior change - to help clients reach their goals in a realistic, sustainable way.
Approach to care
Courtney believes nutrition is a powerful tool for supporting health, longevity, and athletic performance. She works with each person to create simple, realistic plans and build healthy habits that fit their life and goals. Her approach focuses on practical tips, steady progress, and finding what works best for each individual. Courtney helps clients make lasting improvements without stress or the need to be perfect.
Your first session with Courtney
Your first session is all about you - your goals, your routine, and any challenges you're facing. Courtney will take the time to understand your health history, nutrition habits, lifestyle, and, if applicable, training schedule. Whatever your goals may be, this is a supportive space to share your priorities and ask questions. Together, you'll identify key areas for improvement, set realistic and achievable goals, and build a personalized plan to help you reach them.
