About Cristina
Many years ago, faced with my own health challenges, I became interested in nutrition as a means to help resolve them. I gradually started focusing on making healthier food choices, and as I started to feel better, and gain confidence and energy, it became easier to incorporate those changes in a permanent way. When I saw what a huge difference changing my eating habits made in my life and health, and how empowered I felt in helping myself heal, I became inspired to help others on their journey to wellness. Having gained a lot of experience in diabetes, I later went on to get my credential as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.
Approach to care
Good nutrition is the basis for good health. But what does good nutrition look like? I don’t believe that there is one right eating plan for everyone. My goal is to help you to identify your own best path to health, based on your health conditions and goals, food preferences, lifestyle and the many demands on your time. Because there are so many factors that contribute to our food choices, I take a holistic approach to working with clients. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where we work together to create a realistic eating plan based on whole foods, moderation and a healthy relationship with food.
Your first session with Cristina
The purpose of our first session is to get to know each other. It will include a comprehensive assessment of your needs and current nutritional and general health status, and lifestyle factors affecting your ability to meet your health goals. We will talk about your long-term health goals, potential barriers to meeting health goals, what has worked for you in the past and what hasn’t and why these goals are important to you. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you have and share relevant history with me. At the end of the session we will book your follow-up appointments.
