About Cristine

Hi! I'm Cris and I'm glad you're here to allow me to support your wellness journey with diet and lifestyle changes. I became a dietitian after my weight loss journey after my 5th child when I turned 40. Needless to say, 5 children, in my 40's, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, and stressed weight loss efforts felt impossible. Feeling frustrated and discouraged, I started working with a dietitian. The experience and nutrition knowledge I gained made a positive impact on my health and relationship with food. Using the food as medicine approach and cultivating positive changes helped build my self-efficacy to see sustained results. My enthusiasm for achieving better health led to my decision to return to school for a second career to become a dietitian. I became a dietitian to educate, empower, and encourage people to make food choices that support better health. I work for Wellstar Health Systems supporting patients in their weight loss journey as the bariatric outpatient dietitian.

Approach to care

I like to take a personalized approach to the care I provide my patients/clients. I believe in gathering information and understanding one’s environment to create a nutrition plan to support goals that are set by the individual. I have discovered that this approach encourages behavior changes that are achievable and realistic to increase one's self confidence.

Your first session with Cristine

In our first session you can expect a comfortable environment that allows for open dialogue. This allows me to learn about you, your environment, food habits and preferences, medications, and weight history. Followed by nutrition education on how to build a healthy plate, the role of macronutrients, and how food order supports blood sugar management and health without giving up your favorite foods. We end the appointment by creating a personalized plan with 1-2 goals set by you to work on for the next appointment.
