About Cristine
Cristine is a Registered Dietitian with 11 years of counseling experience. She has always been interested in how the body works, and often uses this background as a reminder of how our bodies adapt and respond, which is sometimes different from how we think they "should" work. Her goal is for you to leave sessions feeling empowered and confident in your goals, and to support a positive relationship with food and your body in the process. In her free time, Cristine enjoys the somewhat controlled chaos of her two small children, reading, cooking, and the occasional DIY project.
Approach to care
Cristine takes a very individualized approach to care. She firmly believes that you know your body and your life best, and that any changes we decide to make need to fit YOU. There are no food rules, focusing instead on hunger, fullness and how your body feels. She prefers to work collaboratively with you to identify goals and changes that may be helpful, while staying adaptable. If something isn't working or doesn't feel right, then she will work with you to explore another solution that may be more successful for the long-term.
Your first session with Cristine
There will likely be a lot of questions in your first session, as Cristine gets to know you and your lifestyle, including food preferences, eating habits, appetite throughout the day, sleep, movement and also stressors and time commitments. From there, she will work with you to identify 1-3 changes to implement before your next visit to get you feeling your best. Each session you will work together to assess the changes you've made and build upon them to continue to move forward.
