About Crystal

Hi, I'm Crystal Fox a Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Therapist and eating disorder specialist (IEDS) in practice since 2007. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with eating disorders, disordered eating, diabetes or anyone wishing to improve their overall relationship with food and body. Eating disorders are very complicated illnesses that require a deep understanding of what is at the root of the illness in order to effectively work with a client where they are at.

Approach to care

I treat with a collaborative team care approach which is the standard in eating disorder care. I also utilize nutrition first approach. Once the patient is medically and nutritionally stable then I can move on to utilizing various treatment modalities to work on what is at the root at the eating disorder and also help the patient build adaptive coping skills to help them on their challenging recovery journey. I use various approaches such as DBT, CBT, Intuitive eating (where appropriate), HAES and ACT. I also help patients work on their body image as that is a vital part of the recovery journey as well.

Your first session with Crystal

The first session is an intake session where all necessary medical and behaivoral data is collected. A detailed history of the client's eating disorder is also reviewed. Once the detailed intake session occurs, then I can create a tailored treatment plan for the patient and the real nutrition and therapeutic work can begin.
