Patient reviews
“Being able to relate and have real conversations about food“
“Clear direction and advice towards a balanced diet to keep my blood sugar under control amidst my intermittent fasting way of life and the insomnia that has created problems since my recent pituitary adenoma surgery on 4/26/23.“
“Being an RN, I "know" this information but have a hard time applying it to myself. Crystal understands that and helps me figure out what I can DO with the info for MY lifestyle. She is very encouraging!“
About Crystal
Crystal has been a Registered Dietitian since 2017. Crystal started out in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy. However, Crystal decided she wanted to find a way to combine therapy with nutrition. Since becoming a RD, Crystal has worked with a variety of people to better their health within a hospital and clinic setting. She has worked with patients with multiple chronic conditions including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, high cholesterol, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. Crystal also has experience working in the critical care setting with patients that require nutrition support and earned her Certified Nutrition Support Clinician certification in October 2022.
Approach to care
Crystal values each patient and where they are at in their journey. Crystal has a holistic approach to nutrition and likes to look at the whole picture. Since Crystal has a background in marriage and family therapy, Crystal is trained to look at patterns and relationships and does this through a nutrition-focused lens. Crystal strongly believes in the power of intuitive eating and a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach.
Your first session with Crystal
In the first session, Crystal spends a lot of time getting to know the patient. Crystal will take time to learn about your current lifestyle and what you've tried in the past to help meet your goals. Crystal will also ask clarifying questions to make sure you are understood. Crystal will collaborate with you to come up with small short-term goals to get the process rolling towards a healthier you.
