About Cynthia
Hi! My name is Cynthia. I graduated from the former University of Texas Pan American, now University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Health and wellness as a dietitian has been a focus in my life for nearly 20 years. I went to culinary school, however, with the arrival of my children, I soon realized that I had to re-direct my focus from food preparation to education due to working nights, weekends and holidays in restaurants. I worked in the hospital sector for years before transitioning my focus as a renal dietitian for 15 years, which I continue to work part-time today. In this role, I started educating patients on weight loss to qualify for a transplant which started me on a journey to provide support for weight loss and overall general health. I love to experiment with your favorite foods to make necessary changes to help you make healthy long-lasting, lifestyle changes for your overall success.
Approach to care
I believe in taking a holistic and functional approach to help you achieve your goals at a pace you feel comfortable with. I love to compare your situation with "stories" that make sense to you in this complicated and ever-changing medical world. With this: a focus on diet, nutrition and modifications for Changing "your nutrition" Journey Forever. "The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination" β Don Williams, Jr.
Your first session with Cynthia
I strongly believe that this journey I will take you on will require me to learn about you. It is extremely important that we build a rapport so that I can dig deep into the root of the problem. For this to happen, I need to learn what makes you, you. In our first session we will have conversations that allow me to learn about your daily life, struggles and interests along with your routine. With this, you will have the chance to learn who I am as a person and how I too have made strategies to adjusting to my life/health from the hectic time of raising 3 children and now approaching to being an empty nester. I look forward to helping you find a path for your own journey by starting with initial goals so that we can dig deeper on our 2nd session.
