About Dana
For the past 25 years I have helped hundreds of clients heal themselves through their food choices. I have served in both clinical and community settings working with individuals of various backgrounds, disease states, and conditions. In addition, I have worked in preventive care and with those looking to enhance their physical performance. Currently my primary role is educating future dietitians in nutrition therapy for disease prevention and treatment.
Approach to care
An incredibly wise colleague once told me that "Food is cheaper than medicine." I believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to gain knowledge about the healing power of food. Food, however, should not have power over you but rather you should have the power to use food to met your goals. Each person is unique; therefore, my approach is individualized care at a pace which aligns with your needs.
Your first session with Dana
We will begin by exploring why you are seeking guidance from me. Once we determine that, we will examine your diet, medical, and social history. This will allow us to prioritize and develop "SMART" goals. SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound all of which are important for success in behavior change. Initial sessions are 50 minutes in length. Since ongoing support can increase success, follow-up appointments can be scheduled as you need them. Follow up sessions vary in length but are usually shorter than initial appointments.
