About Danielle

Hi! I have been a practicing dietitian for about 7 years now, working mostly in diabetes education and weight management for both adults and pediatrics. In my most recent role I was hired to open and run a diabetes education center for a hospital in Chicago, IL. During my time working there I worked with individuals of all age groups with type 1 & 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, gestational diabetes, weight management and cholesterol management issues. My largest passion lies in diabetes education and type 2 diabetes prevention therapies.

Approach to care

I firmly believe in the power of simple and sustainable lifestyle changes that create huge results. I don’t believe in huge life overhauls or extreme diets that are impossible to keep up. Consistency will always win over extreme changes. I know this because I have seen it with my own clients who were able to put these practices into place, but also in my own life. In 2016 I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and was able to put it fully into remission within 6 months with the same simple and sustainable changes I recommend to my own patients. My goal as a provider is to help you build sustainable habits in your life and give you the confidence to take control of your health.

Your first session with Danielle

First sessions will be typically spent getting to know each other. We will review your goals, medical history, any recent lab work, lifestyle factors, and typical eating patterns. Other things we may discuss are what you have tried to improve your health in the past? What has worked? What didn't? Are you wanting a more hands-on & in-depth approach or do you want more general help/advice? With each session I like to help you design 1-3 goals that we will follow up at the next visit. I also love reviewing lab work, so please feel free to upload a copy of your labs to the portal for me to review prior to/during your appointment.

Hobbies

I am a mother of the sweetest 2 year old boy named Thatcher so I often do not have much time for hobbies. My husband is also a Naval Officer so I feel like I have spent a lot of time unpacking/packing with 6 moves in the last 3 years! However, in my spare time I picked up photography and runs a side business doing portrait photography for my local community.
