About Dara
I’m a registered dietitian with more than 25 years of experience providing counseling in all areas of medical nutrition therapy. My practice focuses on sustainable weight loss, balanced eating for healthy living, and nutrition management for hormones, menopause, diabetes, weight-loss medications, heart disease, and a wide range of GI issues. My goal is simple: to help you reach your wellness and healthy-living goals with guidance that’s realistic, supportive, and evidence-based. Outside of my nutrition work, I’m a trained Pilates instructor and teach reformer Pilates, blending movement and nutrition to support a truly holistic approach to health. I also raised three boys—now young adults—who have taught me as much about resilience, balance, and flexibility as any professional training ever could.
Approach to care
My approach to care is to meet you exactly where you are. We'll work together to help you get organized, Identify what you want to work on and create healthy habits one step at a time—at a pace that feels realistic, supportive, and sustainable. I am here support you on your healthy journey and help you reach your healthy living goals.
Your first session with Dara
Your first session is all about getting to know you and setting the groundwork for a plan that actually fits your lifestyle. We’ll talk about your lifestyle, goals, challenges, and health history so we can create something realistic and sustainable. We’ll go over your medical history, symptoms, medications (including weight-loss meds), labs, eating patterns, and any concerns. Whether you’re aiming for weight loss, balanced eating, better energy, hormone support, or help managing a medical condition, we’ll get clear on what you want. We’ll talk about your schedule, stress, sleep, activity, and what makes eating well harder than it should be. We'll go over what's working and what isn’t so we can build practical steps that fit your real life. You’ll leave with a simple, doable plan and goals to work on for our next session. We’ll go over follow-ups, how we’ll stay organized, and how we’ll track your progress moving forward.
