About Dara

Dara has been a Registered Dietitian for nearly 15 years, and has a PhD in Nutritional Sciences. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to translating the most current evidence into practical advice for those she works with. As a college professor, Dara helps the next generation of students become impactful practitioners, and as a practicing dietitian, there is nothing more meaningful than helping clients achieve their health and wellness goals. Dara is an expert in nutrition for wellness across the lifespan, and disease prevention with a special interest in helping individuals improve their relationships with food.

Approach to care

As her time in the field has increased, Dara has honed her practice by focusing on real-world approaches. She knows that it is critical to be collaborating with clients, as each individual is truly the expert in their own life. Dara has a non-diet, all-foods-fit approach. She can translate evidence-based practices into practical and applicable guidance. Food is an integral part of life - not a part that should take over everything else and decrease joy and the ability to truly live.

Your first session with Dara

The first session is a no-pressure meeting to get to know who you are. This session lays the groundwork to build from, and so Dara wants to know as much as possible to support you in your journey. There will be lots of conversation, with you driving the direction, and plenty of opportunity to ask questions!
