About Dawn
Hi there! I'm Dawn, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and I’m so glad you're here. With over 25 years of experience, I consider it a true privilege to walk alongside my patients on their health journeys. I’m passionate about delivering personalized care that meets each individual exactly where they are. Whether you're navigating diabetes, prediabetes, high cholesterol, blood pressure concerns, or weight management, I’m here to help craft an impactful, individualized plan that fits your life. My goal is to empower you with compassionate support, a non-judgmental approach, and practical tools that improve health outcomes and make lasting change possible. Let’s make nutrition feel doable, personal, and something that you enjoy.
Approach to care
My approach to care is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and respect. I believe that every person’s health journey is unique, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your goals and challenges. I take time to listen deeply, understand your lifestyle, and work with you through shared decision-making to build a personalized nutrition plan that’s realistic, sustainable, and aligned with your values. My care is patient-focused and grounded in a science-based approach, meaning your voice, preferences, and evidence-informed strategies guide everything we do. Together, we’ll focus on small, meaningful changes that improve health outcomes and help you feel your best—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Your first session with Dawn
In our first session together, we’ll take time to get to know each other and talk about your health goals, lifestyle, and any challenges you’re facing. I’ll ask questions to better understand your medical history, eating habits, and what’s most important to you. This is a judgment-free space where you can feel heard and supported. Together, we’ll begin building a personalized nutrition plan that feels doable, meaningful, and tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to make sure you leave feeling empowered, encouraged, and ready to take the next step toward better health.
Education
I began my professional journey with a degree in business, but my passion for health and helping others led me to return to school to become a Registered Dietitian. That decision transformed my career and deepened my commitment to making a meaningful impact in people’s lives. I completed academic training in nutrition and dietetics, emphasizing evidence-based practice, medical nutrition therapy, and the science of behavior change. I also earned certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, which allows me to provide expert guidance to individuals managing diabetes and related conditions. I’m dedicated to staying current with the latest research and guidelines so I can provide the highest quality care and improve health outcomes for every patient I serve.
Hobbies
Outside of work, I’m an avid audiobook listener who loves getting lost in a good story. I enjoy walking, biking, strength training, yoga, and getting creative in the kitchen—whether it’s testing a new recipe or putting a fresh spin on a favorite dish. These hobbies aren’t just personal passions; they shape how I support my patients. I understand the importance of finding movement you enjoy, meals that feel satisfying and nourishing, and routines that fit real life. My own experiences help me offer practical, judgment-free guidance that makes nutrition and wellness feel approachable, sustainable, and even fun.
