About Denali
I am a Registered Dietitian and fitness professional with over 30 years combined experience.. I have two degrees in Nutrition from Auburn University. I am a published researcher and author. My book, "Embrace & Thrive" is designed to help individuals overcome difficult circumstances and challenges by using Carol Dweck's 'Growth Mindset' principles. As a domestic violence survivor, my goal is to empower individuals, particularly women, to take charge of their lives through holistic practices such as healthy eating, movement, meditation, recovery, and mindset. When I am not coaching, you can find me on a bike riding in the beautiful Colorado terrain or spending time with family and friends.
Approach to care
As a dietitian specializing in intuitive eating and hormones, my care focuses on helping clients cultivate a healthy relationship with food. We work together to dismantle diet culture and reconnect with hunger and fullness cues. I assess how hormonal imbalances (like thyroid issues, insulin resistance, PCOS, or perimenopause) may be impacting appetite, energy, and overall well-being. My approach emphasizes gentle nutrition, self-compassion, and honoring individual needs and preferences. We explore how to nourish the body in a way that supports both physical and emotional health, while addressing any underlying hormonal concerns that may be contributing to challenges with food and body image.
Your first session with Denali
We will start with a comprehensive intake. You can look forward to a warm, empathetic, safe and non-judgemental space to share your story, concerns, and goals. We will explore your past experiences with food, health, any disordered eating and then move toward your motivations for seeking support. We will focus on your "why." I’ll provide an overview of intuitive eating principles and a non-diet approach to food and health. I will work with you to address all dietary, hormonal, or mindset issues or concerns and recommend any blood work or medical testing that might be helpful. Overall, I will be your guide for setting goals and building a healthier future!
