About Denice
Denice's career began at the University of California San Diego, where she played a key role in implementing nutrition-focused clinical trials. She went on to develop a diverse skill set, focusing on residential treatment for eating disorders, cardiac rehabilitation, and weight management. Denice also specializes in pediatric nutrition, helping children with ARFID, picky eating, and food sensitivities. As a critical access dietitian, Denice fills a gap in rural healthcare, possessing a deep understanding of the challenges posed by food deserts and the limited access to specialized medical services, such as dietitians. As a native Spanish speaker and a certified dual-language medical interpreter, Denice connects with clients on a deeper level. Drawing from her own experience balancing the daily demands of raising two boys and caring for three rescue dogs, she is passionate about helping others achieve their health goals in a manageable and sustainable way.
Approach to care
We'll partner to understand your current habits and future goals, then design realistic daily, weekly, and monthly targets that build momentum and keep you consistently engaged. We will assess your experiences, celebrate your wins, and learn from your setbacks to craft a personalized plan for success!
Your first session with Denice
Let's work together to build a personalized health plan. We will begin by reviewing your recent lab work and discussing key lifestyle factors, including your diet, sleep, and physical activity. You will learn the 'why' behind our nutritional recommendations and gain practical skills, like how to decipher nutrition labels. Together, we will create a clear action plan for implementing your goals and schedule our next check-in to track your progress.
