About Donna
Hi, I'm Donna. In River Forest, Illinois, I bring 30 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, with a foundation in nutrition from Mundelein College and an MS in Nutrition from Hampton University. My career spans clinical and hospital settings, community health, and work with insulin pumps and weight management. I love cooking, reading, and traveling, and I bring that curiosity to every patient conversation. I also hold the CDCES credential, which guides my practical, compassionate approach to diabetes care. I'm passionate about helping people achieve a better quality of life, one balanced choice at a time.
Approach to care
As we work together, I draw on an evidence-based approach that stays current with research and proven protocols. I believe in an empathetic and warm practice that meets you where you are, without judgment. My guidance is direct and action-oriented, offering clear steps and practical tools you can use now. I practice with a weight-neutral, holistic mindset that honors your whole life, not just a number on a scale. Education is central, so you leave each session with understanding and confidence to make lasting choices.
Your first session with Donna
Our first session is all about you. We'll review your lab work and biomarkers, discuss short-term goals, and dive into your relationship with food. The tone is collaborative and non-judgmental, designed to feel low-pressure. You don't need to have it all figured out just come as you are. We'll explore what's important to you, what has worked before, and what you hope to achieve. By the end, we'll have a couple of realistic goals and a plan you can start on right away.
