About Donna

Hello! I'm Donna Gould, MS, RD, LD. I am based in Las Vegas, Nevada, but I work with people all over the country. I absolutely love my job and love being a Registered Dietitian! I became an RD because I had serious heart disease in my family, and I have seen how making small lifestyle changes can make a huge difference in one's health. I also love teaching and educating people about general nutrition. I specialize in weight loss, obesity, emotional eating, prediabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. I understand that making changes can be difficult to start and hard to maintain. I use medical nutrition therapy, nutrition education, and behavior change counseling to help you regain control over your health for the long-term. When I’m not at Nourish, I also work at a family practice in town, teach at UNLV, and teach group nutrition classes. I'm looking forward to supporting you and helping you reach your health goals.

Approach to care

I use the approach of small changes make a big difference. We live in an instant gratification society and most people get frustrated if results do not happen quickly. One small change may seem insignificant at first, but it helps you gain the momentum, confidence, and motivation to continue making changes. I also meet you where you are and together, we create a plan that realistically fits your lifestyle and makes you feel successful. There are many ways to lose weight and become healthier. Together, we will find the right approach. I provide accountability, but I also provide the guidance and education so that you feel confident making healthy choices on your own. Lastly, I use a whole health approach—physical activity levels, stress management, social connection, and restorative sleep. These are all important factors that affect your health. Therefore, I also provide guidance on how to improve these areas of your life.

Your first session with Donna

By the time we meet, I'll have reviewed your profile, medical history, and your most recent lab work (if you have it). You will tell me your unique nutrition story—any information that you want to share or information that you think is relevant. This helps me get to know you and determine how I can best support you. Then we will discuss your overall health goals and create realistic goals to start moving you in a forward direction. Also, it is natural to feel that sharing your eating or drinking habits will lead to judgement. I can assure you that is not true. I approach food and nutrition in a non-judgmental, evidenced-based, patient-centered way. I understand that food is so much more about fuel – it is comfort, culture, tradition, and social life. No matter you are on your health journey, you will leave our session feeling educated, empowered, and confident.
