About Donna
Hello! I'm Donna Gould, MS, RD, LD. I love being a Registered Dietitian and helping people improve their health. I specialize in weight management, emotional eating, heart health, and prediabetes/diabetes. I have a clinical background and use medical nutrition therapy, nutrition education, and behavior change counseling to help you regain control over your health for the long-term. When I’m not at Nourish, I also work at a family practice in town, teach at UNLV, and teach community nutrition classes. I'm looking forward to supporting you and helping you reach your health goals.
Approach to care
Weight management and healthy eating are lifelong commitments and individual experiences. I provide the expertise and resources to help you make lifestyle changes that are effective and maintainable. I use the approach of small changes can make a big difference in our life. We live in an instant gratification society and most people get frustrated if results do not happen quickly. While a few small changes may seem insignificant at first, they help you gain the momentum, confidence, and motivation to continue making changes that last. I meet you where you are and together, we create a plan that realistically fits your lifestyle and makes you feel successful. There are many different ways to lose/maintain weight and be healthier--we are all unique and individual. Together, we will find the right path that feels comfortable for you. My approach to care is best for people looking to make lifestyle changes for their health, rather than focus on quick fixes.
Your first session with Donna
It is natural to feel nervous before our first session or that sharing your eating/drinking habits will lead to judgement. I can assure you that is not true. I approach weight management and nutrition in a non-judgmental, clinical, patient-centered way. I specifically enjoy working with women 40+. I am in my mid-40s so I understand the changes the body is going through. While I am compassionate and empathetic, I provide honest and evidenced-based guidance. I understand that food is so much more about fuel – it is comfort, culture, tradition, and social life. We will discuss your overall health goals and create realistic short-term goals to start moving you in a forward direction. No matter you are on your health journey, you will leave our session feeling educated, empowered, and confident.
