About Dorian
Hello! I am a Registered Dietitian with more than 20 years of experience in nutrition coaching and counseling. My love of food and science led me to the study of nutrition, and being a nutritionist and dietitian allows me to combine the two to help others live healthier lives. I have worked with patients and clients for the entire life span from newborn babies to mature adults.
Approach to care
My approach to help my patients meet nutrition and health goals involves 3 steps that help you transform during the week that we work together. I call it the ABC method: Awareness, Building, Continuation. Awareness: We'll discuss your current food intake, favorite foods, and how you envision transforming your eating habits and lifestyle. Building: We'll identify and discuss what you are already doing to promote a healthy life and build from there. Here, you consider new food behaviors, foods to limit or remove, and foods to add. Continuation: Once we have discovered and implemented changes that you are comfortable with to meet your goals, we'll work on maintaining those habits. My goal is always to add more delicious and nutritious foods that support your health rather than simply take away foods that you enjoy. Lastly, I do my best to make sure that the things that I recommend are evidence-based and rooted in research.
Your first session with Dorian
I call the first session with my patients 'Getting to Know You'. My overall counseling style is conversational, educational, and action-driven. In each session, there will be homework. I am confident that there will be a small win that brings you closer to where you want to be.
