About Elaine

After more than twenty years as a dietitian, I’ve learned that nutrition is never just about food. My career has included providing inpatient and outpatient care, supporting patients from preterm infants to older adults. I’ve also enjoyed work in foodservice and catering, population health, and journalism. That range has taught me how deeply our health is shaped by our environments, identities, relationships, and daily realities. I love helping people experiment with new foods, build confidence in the kitchen, set goals they can actually meet, and navigate life transitions with more ease. The journalist in me is endlessly curious — I’m always learning, researching, and staying current with emerging trends so I can bring you guidance that’s both practical and evidence‑based. My approach is realistic and down-to-earth. I’ve seen how sustainable change happens when people feel supported rather than judged, and when nutrition becomes a source of clarity and empowerment instead of stress.

Approach to care

I don’t believe our physical health can be separated from the rest of our lives. Our emotional wellbeing, relationships, work and home environments, and sense of identity all move together in a highly orchestrated dance — and in a busy world, it’s easy to lose the rhythm. My goal is to help you rebuild a strong foundation of knowledge and practical skills so that anything you add to your routine in the future has a place to land. Whether you’re adjusting to a new diagnosis, preparing for a new life stage, or simply trying to feel more at home in your body, we’ll work together in a way that feels grounded, compassionate, and doable. As MLK said, ā€œIf you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl — but whatever you do, you have to keep moving.ā€ I believe in steady, sustainable progress, not perfection.

Your first session with Elaine

In our first session, we’ll identify your top priorities and narrow your focus so you don’t feel overwhelmed or discouraged. Together, we’ll explore your relationship with food, your daily routines, and what you want your next chapter to look like. My goal is for you to leave that first meeting feeling hopeful, grounded, and inspired — with a clear sense of direction and a plan that feels realistic for your life. Nutrition should feel like an opportunity, not a burden, and I’m here to help you build a healthier lifestyle that feels both achievable and genuinely rewarding.
