About Elaine
Hi, I’m Elaine! I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you as you reach towards your nutritional goals! My knowledge and nutritional approaches stem from a BS in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech and an MPH from Howard University. I’ve worked in community health and in community nutrition research, which helps me bring nutrition and behavioral science into everyday choices. Outside of working hours, you could easily find me walking, baking, cooking, reading, hiking, playing board games, crafting, or trying to learn something new!
Approach to care
Nutritional care is best when built on a foundation of scientific evidence, warmth, and empathy. Together, I work with individuals to focus on behavioral changes and building healthy habits. In doing so, scientific approaches are applied to people's lives to achieve sustainable success!
Your first session with Elaine
Our first appointment is a welcoming conversation about you. We’ll review your medical history and current eating patterns, but we’ll also talk about your why - why you want to change, and what you’re ready to do about it. You don’t need to have it all figured out, because together we’ll set 2 to 3 short-term goals. From there, we can outline simple, doable steps that fit your life.
