About Elizabeth
Elisa began her own journey into nutrition after attending culinary school in California's Bay Area at the Culinary Institute of America in 2010. She fell in love with the concept of healing through food and went on to complete her Master of Public Health and Dietetic Internship in Birmingham, AL through Samford University. Elisa became a Registered Dietitian in 2015, and she has since pursued additional training and experience in the areas of women’s functional medicine, gastrointestinal disorders, and oncology. She is a 2023 graduate of Dr. Aviva Romm’s Functional & Integrative Medicine for Women Professional Training Course.
Approach to care
Elisa has almost a decade of experience as a clinical nutritionist. She approaches nutrition with a realistic and holistic approach, taking into consideration your personal food preferences and lifestyle. As a busy mom of 2, she knows how to help her clients improve their diet using easy, time-saving strategies. Elisa utilizes evidence-based information and practices in accordance with the HAES (Health at Every Size) model of care.
Your first session with Elizabeth
The first meeting is a discovery session to understand your health history and nutrition goals. You will review past medical history and current concerns. There will be a discussion of current dietary patterns and food preferences as well as a review of sleep, stress, and physical activity. You will leave the first session with an overview of how Elisa will help you meet your goals. Nutrition basics may be reviewed, with more in-depth personalized counseling at follow up sessions.
