About Elizabeth

Hello and welcome! My name is Elizabeth; I also go by Liz. I am going on seven years of working in the nutrition field as a Registered Dietitian. Originally from near Saratoga New York, I have lived in Rochester NY for the past six years with my fiancée Owen. I am the oldest of five and grew up part of a large extended family that always came together and connected around good food. My mom's Italian roots, my dad's family-owned grocery store, and my personal experience with fueling myself for many sports throughout my youth are just some of the sources of inspiration I went into the nutrition field with, and that continue to guide my practice today!

Approach to care

My nutrition care is first and foremost patient centered. I believe that nutrition can and should be flexible throughout your life, and that the best eating pattern for you is one that supports your individual health goals as well as your current lifestyle. I also know that our nutrition does not function on its own yet is intertwined with many other aspects of our health and wellbeing. I consider the whole person in my approach and aim to work nutrition interventions into something that is both evidence-based and realistic for you.

Your first session with Elizabeth

In our first session, we will get to know each other. I will ask about what brought you to our session, what your goals for our work together are, and what being healthy means to you! Don't worry if you don't have all the answers yet. We will explore your current eating patterns and your social determinants of health (eating environments, food access, budget, food procurement and cooking patterns) and chat about your motivations and any barriers to change that may be present. We will end the session with at least 1-2 main goals for our work together and plan a follow-up session.
