About Ellen
Hi, and welcome! I am a Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Therapist and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and Consultant/ Supervisor. I am based in Los Angeles, California but am originally from New York. I have lived in California the past 30 years. I am an Eating Disorders Specialist and Supervisor ( CEDS-C) and can supervise other clinicians who work with Eating Disorders. I have had a private practice for 20 years and I specialize in ALL eating disorders , issues with disordered eating, and your relationship with food and your body. I have done a lot of educational seminars and public speaking about eating disorders. I also serve on the board of the Los Angeles Eating Disorders Collective which is a social justice driven organization for inclusive education and support. In addition to working with eating disorders, I also work with many people who struggle with gastrointestinal issues, hormone imbalance issues such as PCOS, pre-diabetes , heart health and general nutrition.
Approach to care
My approach to care is very individualized. I do a full assessment on your medical history, look at any lab work done, medications and supplements and of course, what your typical days of eating looks like. I also assess other areas of your life including stress and sleep, etc. From there...we discuss what your goals are and we set long term and short term SMART goals together. I am your coach and guide sitting besides you the whole time so you feel safe and supported.
Your first session with Ellen
In your first session we will get to know each other, find out why you want to see a Dietitian and what kind of support you are looking for. We then go over your goals and objectives and discuss your history. We will then come up with a reasonable plan together that works best for you and your lifestyle. We will set follow up sessions to assess how the plan is working and then make any changes necessary as we go.
