About Elliott
Hi, my name is Elliott Horowitz. In addition to being a Dietitian, I am also certified as a Personal Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Health/Well Coach. Even after 35 years as a Dietitian, it still gives me incredible joy to see my client or patient attain greater wellness, no matter how small the achievement! I have worked in hospitals, clinics, corporate offices, media, nursing homes, private physician offices, spa/gyms in the United States and in the country of Turkey. I have worked with 1,000s of individuals of all ethnicities ranging from 6 months to 98 years of age! My experience includes Weight Management, Immune dysfunction, Eating Disorders, Athletic Performance , Diabetes, Mood/Behavioral, Neurological, Gastrointestinal, Liver, Thyroid and Cardiovascular disorders and both Pediatric and Geriatric Nutrition. My experience in the field of fitness is just as diverse.
Approach to care
My approach to care is to present a safe, non-judgmental and comfortable environment while establishing rapport with you. I use what I call the 4 Cs, in my approach- Caring, Compassionate, Creative and Collaborative. My role is to be your guide, coach and cheerleader while we become a team. Rather than use a restrictive “diet”, we use an organic approach that is adaptable while we establish personal principles and a philosophy of eating that you feel connected and grounded to. We don’t moralize food and there is no failure! Progress not perfection!
Your first session with Elliott
We do a comprehensive diet and health history, which includes your beliefs and values with regards to your health. Then you indicate your inspirations. I want to know what’s important to you! It’s important that you feel heard and respected. We then uncover personal, medical, environmental and social factors that might be current or potential roadblocks. Once you feel comfortable, we collaborate on individualized goals, outcomes and solutions to assist you. I look forward to working with you on your journey to wellness.
