Patient reviews

  • โ€œElyse is so important to me because she is the first nutritionist I have ever seen who clearly cares about me and my goals. I'm post-menopausal and struggled with weight gain from hormone changes. Elyse is there with me every step of the way to work at making tiny steps that I can do that build upon one another-- looking at a lot more than food: from sleep to stress to boundaries to allow self-care. I look forward to Elyse's presence every Monday morning and am so grateful. โ€œ

About Elyse

I was born and raised in NYC and still live in Manhattan today! I have always lived a very active lifestyle. From playing sports like volleyball to practicing yoga and weight lifting, fitness has been a consistent part of my life. I became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) while in college. I was a vegetarian for nearly two decades. Although I am not any longer, I am intimately familiar with both plant-based and animal-based approaches to nutrition. Additionally, I've been gluten-free for nearly 10 years due to GI issues, granting me insight into dietary restrictions and adjustments. On a more personal note, I've had five rescue dogs.

Approach to care

I prioritize a personalized approach, tailored to your unique needs, as nutrition isn't one-size-fits-all. By integrating evidence-based strategies with your experiences, we'll set goals aligned with your lifestyle. I want you to feel challenged, but never as if the goals are unachievable. Discussing food and diet can be difficult, and I aim to be an empathetic practitioner. I want you to feel supported, like you have a cheerleader in your corner, ready to celebrate your milestones. I tend to favor a more functional and holistic whole-body approach to nutrition.

Your first session with Elyse

The first session will mainly be me getting familiar with you and your nutrition journey. I want to craft a plan of care to your personal and lived experiences. We'll delve into your eating patterns, relationship with food, ultimate goals, and food preferences to make a plan that suits you as an individual. Mental and physical health are both important in achieving true health, and together, we'll set small, achievable goals that lead to real progress.
