About Emily
Hello there! My name is Emily Acri, a Registered Dietitian with 3 years of experience. I've spent the last two years practicing as a clinical transplant dietitian at Yale's hospital. I am passionate about all things food and nutrition, and I am looking forward to helping you reach your goals, whatever they may be! Whether its general health, weight loss or gain, or a specific condition, I hope to be part of your journey to improving your quality of life through nutrition!
Approach to care
My approach to care comes, largely, from my preceptors from back in my internship days. I approach care with the CARE acronym - compassion, action, respect, and empathy. My goal is always to listen first, learn who you are and what is important to you, and center your goals around that. My care is patient-centered, and I will do what I can to ensure that you are not only receiving quality, evidence-based nutrition care, but you feel heard and listened to.
Your first session with Emily
In your first session, you can expect to spend a lot of time getting to know each other! It will largely be a question-and-answer session for me to get to know anything about you from your lifestyle to your medical conditions to the environment that surrounds you. We will spend our time together talking about all things that encompass who you are and what is important to you in your nutrition care. This session allows me to obtain a good background to help you make healthy, sustainable goals to meet your needs.
