About Emily

Hey, I’m Emily. I became a dietitian in 2018 and have spent five years working as an inpatient dietitian with a focus in the ICU and general surgery units—where my passion for caring for patients with complex GI disorders truly grew. My career has since expanded into home care and veteran-focused nutrition, and I now have the privilege of supporting both of these communities while also running and supporting a GI clinic. I specialize in the full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions, as well as liver disease and cirrhosis, pancreatitis, enteral nutrition, ostomy care, wound healing, and nutrition support for various cancer sites. I am currently working toward earning a formal certificate as a Board Certified Specialist in Digestive Health to deepen my expertise even further. I’m committed to helping you optimize your health through evidence-based, individualized nutrition care. Together, we can put the fun in fundus!

Approach to care

My approach to care is rooted in evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and genuine partnership. I focus on understanding your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and goals to develop a personalized, realistic plan. With experience in complex GI conditions, I translate clinical concepts into practical steps you can use daily. Whether addressing chronic symptoms, new diagnoses, or nutrition support needs, I create a supportive environment where you feel heard and empowered. My goal is to improve your quality of life, reduce discomfort, and build long-term habits that support your health — at a pace that works for you.

Your first session with Emily

During our first session, we’ll take time to get a full picture of your health, symptoms, medical history, and daily routine so I can understand what you’re experiencing and what matters most to you. I’ll ask questions about your digestive symptoms, past evaluations, medications, labs, and typical eating patterns — all at a pace that feels comfortable and without any judgment. Together, we’ll identify your priorities, discuss any immediate concerns, and outline clear, realistic next steps. By the end of our session, you’ll walk away with a personalized plan, practical strategies you can start using right away, and a better understanding of how we’ll work together to support your long-term gut health.

Hobbies

Outside of work, I love spending time with my two dogs and cat, who keep life entertaining and full of joy. Gardening—both indoors and outdoors—is one of my favorite ways to unwind, and I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen and trying new recipes. I’m always exploring new music, finding books that pull me in, and discovering types of movement that feel good for my body.
