About Emily

I’m Emmie Burke, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Nutrition Support Clinician with nearly two decades of experience providing personalized, evidence-based nutrition care. I work one-on-one with adults seeking support for a wide range of nutrition needs, including medical nutrition therapy, digestive health, weight management, chronic disease prevention, overall wellness and enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

Approach to care

My approach is practical, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe nutrition counseling should feel supportive—not overwhelming—and I focus on helping you build sustainable habits that fit your lifestyle, preferences, and health goals. Rather than quick fixes, I emphasize education, confidence, and long-term success. In addition to my private practice, I serve as an Associate Director of Clinical Nutrition at a nationally recognized academic medical center, where I lead clinical nutrition programs and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. I’m also a published researcher, with work focused on malnutrition, critical care nutrition, and innovative approaches to improving nutrition care.

Your first session with Emily

During our first session, my goal is to truly get to know you—not just your nutrition goals, but you as a whole person. We’ll spend time discussing your medical history, lifestyle, and any current health concerns, as well as your relationship with food over time. I’ll ask about your eating patterns, cultural and personal food preferences, daily routines, stress, sleep, and movement, so I can understand what nutrition looks like in the context of your real life. We’ll also talk about what’s worked for you in the past, what hasn’t, and what you’re hoping to achieve moving forward. This first visit is conversational and collaborative—not judgmental or prescriptive. There’s no expectation to have everything ā€œfigured out.ā€ My role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and begin identifying opportunities where nutrition can realistically support your health and well-being.
