About Emily

I recently transitioned to working for Nourish full time after 4 years as a nursing home dietitian, working with people over 65 with a variety of health issues including diabetes, heart disease, and renal disease. I have a special interest in diabetes education and am working towards becoming a Certified Diabetes Educator. I have a background in culinary arts, so coming up with recipes, adjusting recipes, and developing ideas for quick and easy meals and snacks to meet your needs is one of my specialties. I’ve had my own experience struggling with obesity and I love helping my clients change their perspective about weight and prioritize their health over their size.

Approach to care

I have a liberal approach and I believe in ā€œhealth at every sizeā€ and ā€œfood freedomā€. I want my clients to prioritize physical and mental health over size/weight. I will never require you to weigh yourself, journal your meals, or do anything that feels mentally unhealthy for you. We will mainly focus on health.

Your first session with Emily

In your first session we will get to know each other and review your goals/expectations. We will set long term goals, but we will start by setting small goals that are baby steps towards your long term goals so that you can work towards making changes that are sustainable for you. We will discuss any topics that you have questions on.
