About Emily
Throughout my past 2 decades as a dietitian, I have worked with a wide variety of patients spanning all ages and nutritional needs. My pediatric care specialties include type 1 diabetes, food allergies, oncology, selective eating, and healthy balanced nutrition. My adult nutrition specialties include type 1 and type 2 diabetes, pregnancy nutrition (including gestational diabetes), weight management (loss or gain), healthy eating for mental health, menopause and aging, cardiovascular health, oncology, and food allergies.
Approach to care
It's important to first understand where you are at today and where you want to be in the future. As we discuss your goals and questions, we can strategize around any challenges involved to come up with a plan that will actually work for your lifestyle and needs. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healthy eating, so it will be my priority to launch from where you're at and help you to achieve what you came here for. I will be here to support you along the way, and I believe deeply in the power of collaboration, empathy, positivity, and transparency on the path towards meaningful growth!
Your first session with Emily
In our first session, I will ask questions about your current routines, what you like (and dislike) eating now, and what your dietary questions and needs are so that we can come up with meaningful solutions. As we discuss your lifestyle and dietary factors, I will also want to understand the challenges you may face as you're making nutritional changes, so that we can strategize around those and come up with solutions that are practical and applicable in your everyday life. Things are much easier said than done, so we'll talk through scenarios and the reality of what nutritional changes could look like in your life. I welcome questions, concerns, ideas, and counter-ideas along the way, whatever it takes to help make your goals a reality, we will get there together.
